Following recent news reported by TV3 and other media, the Doctor Music Festival management team would like to express the following:
Due to an exaggerated normative interpretation of the theoretical flood risks in this valley, which has never before flooded in summer (at least as far as current data shows), the stringency levels which have been applied go way beyond the norm. We have therefore been forced to consider alternative locations in order to ensure that all artistic commitments made are complied with, and that any expectations from the festival’s followers are fully satisfied.
We can confirm that Montmeló is among the possible alternative locations we have visited and considered, due to the excellent location of the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit and its ability to satisfy the needs and necessary security for such a large-scale event, as has been designed for this new edition of Doctor Music Festival.
However, as stated explicitly in the report broadcasted by TV3, as of yet, there have been no agreements signed to move the festival to Montmeló or any other location, even though it may result troublesome holding the festival in Escalarre this coming summer.
Either way, no matter where the final location is, the festival will be held during the same dates and will maintain the same high level of quality, number of stages and artist performances as per confirmed to date.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who has supported the festival over the last few days throughout the Pallars area, as we have always shared the same desire for the festival to be held in Escalarre once again.
We will keep you informed.
